Binding 101

I'm continuing to work my way through different book structures and binding techniques to learn the basics. I've been intrigued by the look of the caterpillar stitch and decided to try it out on a little blank book. It is 5.25" x 4.25" with a heavy paper cover, the "caterpillars" binding three signatures to the cover at the spine. The stitch is time-consuming, but I do like the decorative potential of this technique as an opportunity to introduce more color and dimension on the cover.
