Since still photos can only show so much, one of my goals has been to create videos of my books. I want to document all of the spreads and make them available to viewers, and also provide a better approximation of the reading experience when interacting with them in person is not an option. Because materials are so important in my work it seems a video can convey more information about the weight, motion, and aural qualities of my books. For Beckoning in particular, I wanted to capture the way the sound of the pages turning in the section titled "Overture: Susurrous" mimics the sound of waves crashing.
